unPoster – How to Reset a Newsgroup

The unPoster will send you to this page when it thinks that one of your Usenet newsgroups needs to be reset. For an explanation of why this sometimes happens, please see this page.

You need to set the newsgroup’s Starting Point back to zero. You can do so two ways:

Method 1

1. Go onto the Setup menu
2. Select Groups
3. On the Groups window, select the group in question
4. Click the Starting Point button
5. Type a zero for Starting Point and click Save

Method 2

1. Go onto the File menu
2. Select Lister
3. On the Lister window, select the group in question
4. Click the “Clear Group” button
5. Answer “yes” to both prompts
